Blue Clitoria Plant: An Exciting Find!

I was perusing Amazon.com and found seeds for the “Blue Clitoria Plant” for sale.  Below is the product description and I have highlighted some key phrases that “pricked” my attention:

Product Description: Blue Clitoria Plant

Appropriately named. One of the most exciting finds for ages. The white form has always been popular, but to find a blue is a reward, indeed. Marvelous climber and also a superb pot plant. Something very different, unusual. They provide quick covers for lattice, trellis, arbor and chain-link fence, and are a favorite food source for butterflies. They are hardy in Zones 10-11. In cooler regions grow as an annual or bring indoors as a house plant in the winter. They prefer full sun to light shade. These plants are very drought tolerant, but should be watered regularly. (never over-water!). The seed pods are edible.
Proper name: Clitoria ternata
Also known as the Blue Butterfly Pea.

So, I hope your mind wandered as much as mine did today. I vehemently contend the reference to the blue form being “a reward, indeed” is a sub-conscious reference to black women. But, I will keep that tidbit to myself.
